Top 10 Sirius FM Spa channel artists of 2023

If the car you regularly ride in has inherited a subscription to Sirius FM you may want to tune into the Spa channel. If you don’t have this exclusive access you can hit this link and see what they’re playing. “Channel 68 Spa is an ethereal audio experience. It's new age with a twist of ambient and light world music. A perfect spa experience.” I actively choose to listen to spa music in spa environments even when I have control of the music. If you know anything of the last 5-6 years of my life you might understand why I’d be into spa music. I discovered the Spa channel while being driven around Detroit most of 2023. If it was on in the car I bathed in its warmth turning the world into a kind of spa. This became routine for a while. I was also staying in some kind of safe haven during this time so this combination was heavenly for me and much needed. I might have passed peak intake of spa music now but I am glad I got to experience the Sirius FM Spa channel and that it has given me something to write home about.

1. Tim Story
I actually got to see Tim Story and Roedelius at OTO this year. The camaraderie between them was pretty special. I played his Beguiled record on Youtube whilst starting this list earlier in November and got an ad for snoring devices. There’s a whole world hidden in plain sight.

2. Richard Bone aka Dick Bone
Website and album

3. Stephen Halpern
I really got halp-ed this year. Psychedelic Healing Music is a firm fav. If you find any of his live performances on YouTube you get to admire some of his lavish attire. It only adds to the expansive nature of Halpern’s output in his current life.

4. Suzanne Ciani
Queen of electronic bliss. Mastered the art of making money through music yet avoiding fame. A commercial artist still considered cool.

5. Roger Eno
I didn’t know Brian Eno had a brother who also did music but here we are with someone still pulling moves on the Spa channel which makes it seem like murkier shadow lurking.

6. Michelle Qureshi
This is not the Michelle Qureshi who said she prayed for her dead husband’s resurrection, according to Premier Christian News.

7. David Arkenstone
For the name alone. And then the sounds.

8. Stardust
Not ‘Music Sounds Better With You’ Stardust but ‘Relaxing Fantasy Music with Beautiful Night Skies’ Stardust.

9. Peter davidson
‘Forest I’ caught my attention in particular once I got over the microsecond where I thought this was Pete Davidson and what a silly microsecond that was.

10. Kristen Miller
I think I only heard ‘Orangerie’. “Orangerie is a relaxing, soaring cello track meant to evoke the spacious, calm beauty of the Orangerie where Claude Monet’s Waterlilies are displayed.” I also like orangeries as a concept, and the occasional orange. But I’m mostly reminded of Le Jardin Majorelle.
