Top ten online videos. all Youtube, except for the one Vimeo jam, as noted. In no order in partic.

1. Gang Gang Dance- Live at the Chop Suey in Seattle, 2005 (Vimeo)
Memorable show in my world. after a number of issues with the meatheads working the club/venue (there's not a "the" in the name, but whatever), the last straw of which being one of their tourmates getting 86'd from said venue, GGD decide after playing 3 songs to cancel the performance and leave. instead of everybody going and demanding their money back, it becomes a cathartic group jam featuring everybody in the room and anything that wasn't run through the PA, which got shut off by the venue along with the lights.
not present in the video: all the riot cops that were waiting outside as folks were leaving.

2. Sun City Girls - Live at the Sky Church, Bumbershoot Festival, September 3rd, 2004
This was somehow the only time I ever saw them, but golly, another memorable and chaotic experience. A local weekly paper had done a multiple-page cover story write-up on these fellers, and supposedly there was talk of a local Grunge cash-in machine indie payola label being in attendance, looking for more content for the gullible wallet-opening masses.

Ended out being the most beautiful "fuck-you" to about everyone ever, with a back-drop of hip sponsor advertisements. just go watch it. I guess the whole set is on a DVD that I have that came with a somewhat recent LP release of this set. I don't have a DVD player and am yet to see it. Seattle folks, if yr reading this, let's do a watch-party, already.

3. Egg Baloney Pardon Me Calypso Germ Food Booth Mumu EPISODE 2
How the hell did I originally find this? I guess just sidebar cruising for the weirdest shet I can find, though the algorithms only want to refeed you comfort food most of the time.

Whatever. Wasn't really a conscious thing, but the hyper-wtf weirdo trio "Funky Photos" that I "played" with for a while had some real similarities if you blurred yr eyes and ears enough.

4. Exuma "Dambala"
Kind of an old faithful to show someone to make sure they're "cool". or just to throw on and zone out.

5. Tonetta "A Little at a Time"
might as well cue up the version with him dancing. the ideal way to watch a Tonetta vid. a close tie for me would definitely be "John & Yoko" AKA "Wife My You Miss I". both gems that have been embedded into my brain.
Best living outsider pop character on the scene? won't hold it against him that he finally found a reason to block me on facebook. 🤷

6. Daniel Johnston - Don't Play Cards With Satan (Live)
Total freak soul power. unfiltered and gaddamn raw emotion reflection.

Didn't know until not too long ago, but the whole "My Dinner with Daniel" video with Jad & David Fair that this bit came from is on youtube nowadays, if you have an hour and forty to spare.

7. 43-tone Harmonisation - Harry Partch's Rose Petal Jam
Fell in love with the Rose Petal Jam video when I first saw it. Like dag, Partch really seemed like someone I would want to bro down and shoot the shit with. and then more recently someone added the 43-tone harmonisation accompaniment. -- someone show me where the rabbit-hole of this kind of stuff is on TikTok, instead of the idiots trying to go lowest-common-denominator viral.

8. Renaldo & the Loaf - Songs for Swinging Larvae
That's the 6-minute Ralph Records short, not the album of the same name (which don't get me wrong, is GRATE). the current youtube version has an MTV logo in the corner. if only this was what MTV became instead of... whatever it became.
Kinda cool. kinda classic.

9. Caroliner - Burdensome Blood
Old-timey nightmare sounds. what the fuck did they did give Alice after she followed the rabbit? huh.
I almost put "Coal Mound" which was my "profile song" when you'd visit my MySpace in that wonderous era. but there's just something about Burdensome Blood.

10. Pharaoh Sanders - the Creator has a Master Plan
This is my number one roadtrip long-drive highway crank-it-and-cruise jam. just jam and jam and jam and say damn. bop to it.

I had more outsider wildness to share, but this is top 10 and not top 15 or 20.
I typed this while spinning a few records (Raccoo-oo-oon, Son of Salami, & Mamman Sani) and playing a "Best of Becker all seasons" video on mute on the living room TV just to confuse the roommates.
